Abdominoplasty

An abdominoplasty commonly known as a tummy tuck is a cosmetic procedure that involves removing excess skin or fat from the middle and lower abdomen in order to tighten the muscle of the abdominal wall.

It is usually considered after a pregnancy when the skin and muscle around the abdomen become loose or sag. It may also be performed on patients who have experienced weight loss.

Abdominoplastys are of different types and depending on the extent of surgery required:
A complete abdominoplasty surgery takes 1 to 5 hours.
A partial abdominoplasty or mini-tuck abdominoplasty can take up to 2 hours.

Abdominoplastys require a 2-day hospital stay.
