A recent health feature highlighted the rise in H1N1 cases among children in Bengaluru and the need to prevent school-based transmission during the flu season. Dr. Vikas Satwik, Senior Consultant and Lead Paediatrician and Neonatologist at Motherhood Hospitals, Banashankari, explained that the current increase is unusual for this time of year and is far higher than levels seen during the corresponding period last year, while stressing early medical care, hygiene, reduced close contact, flu vaccination, hydration, and keeping sick children at home.
