Bilateral Endometriotic Cyst, also known as the chocolate cyst is a sac or pouch growing on the ovary that contains fluids or even semi-solid materials. In simple terms, it is a blood-filled cyst found in the ovaries. Endometriotic cyst affects a large number of women at some point of time and requires medical intervention. We at Motherhood, are well adept at diagnosis and treatment of Endometriotic cyst.
How does it form?
Endometriotic cyst develops when tissues from the inside surface of the uterus (endometriotic tissues) grow abnormally and attach to the ovaries. Stimulation by menstrual hormones results in further multiplication of cysts. Gradually, unclotted blood gets collected in these sacs and starts irritating the surrounding tissues.
Symptoms of Endometriotic Cyst:
- Abdominal cramps during the menstrual cycle.
- Abnormal bleeding.
- Dark colored vaginal discharge.
- Excessive pain during periods.
- Pain during sexual intercourse.
- Pain while urinating or emptying the bowels.
If you suffer from the above symptoms, diagnostic tests are done for endometriosis. Motherhood’s well-trained doctors and facilities ensure a smooth diagnostic process for endometriosis.
