INFECTION CONTROL NURSE

Main Objective of the Role

To prevent susceptible patients acquiring pathogenic (disease-causing) micro-organisms. To limit the spread of antimicrobial resistant infections.

  • To conduct environmental study of Operation Theatres, Intensive Care Units, and other critical areas as per schedule.
  • Daily completion of Proforma for infected patients in all the departments
  • To compile hospital infection data as per the proforma daily.
  • To periodically monitor the use of disinfectants.
  • To regularly monitor Infection Control Practices.
  • To investigate outbreaks.
  • To carry out any other assignment as assigned by Infection Control Officer.
  • To be aware of the NABH standards and implement the same.
  • Any other work assigned by the Head of the Department.

Major Job Qualifications / Specific Skills

Required Education: 10+2 with Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery or Basic /Post Basic B.Sc.

Experience: 2  months – 5 years

Knowledge and Specific Skills:

Clinical Skills, Supervisory Skills, Ability  to execute plans, Responsible & Accountable for nursing care, people skills, decision making, problem solving skills, Task oriented, Aware of NABH standards

Required Critical Behavioral Competencies:

Good Communication Skills, Problem Solving, Team Management, Training & Development, Mentorship
