A recent health feature highlighted a rise in influenza-like illness and confirmed H1N1 cases among children in Bengaluru, with symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, cold, body pain, vomiting, diarrhoea, tiredness, headache, breathing difficulty, and poor appetite. Dr. Harini Sreedharan, Consultant Paediatrician and Neonatologist at Motherhood Hospitals, Sarjapur, and Dr. Vikas Satwik, Senior Paediatrician and Neonatologist at Motherhood Hospitals, Hebbal, explained that school-going children can be more vulnerable due to close classroom contact and weaker immunity, while stressing early testing, timely medical care, hydration, rest, hygiene, and flu vaccination.
