A recent Mumbai Mirror feature highlighted the rising concern of childhood myopia and the need for timely eye screening, outdoor play, reduced screen exposure, and lifestyle changes. Dr. Pillai, Consultant – Neonatology and Pediatrics at Motherhood Hospitals, Kharghar, explained that one challenge is many children may not realise their vision is poor, so parents should watch for signs such as squinting, sitting too close to screens, holding devices very close, headaches, or difficulty seeing distant objects.
