
A recent Pune Times Mirror health feature highlighted the rise in urinary tract infections among children during the monsoon, especially due to wet clothes, damp school uniforms, poor hygiene, dehydration, and holding urine for long hours. Dr. Tushar Parikh, Senior Consultant – Neonatologist and Paediatrician at Motherhood Hospital, Kharadi, Pune, explained that children may show symptoms such as frequent urination, pain or burning while passing urine, fever, lower abdominal pain, vomiting, or unusual irritability, while stressing hydration, hygiene, dry clothing, and timely medical care.
