A recent Times Now health feature highlighted how swimming during summer can lead to skin, hair, eye, and respiratory concerns, especially among children. Dr. Tushar Parikh, Senior Consultant Neonatologist and Pediatrician at Motherhood Hospital, Kharadi, Pune, explained that children are more vulnerable to chlorine and chloramines due to longer pool exposure, developing lungs, smaller airways, and higher breathing rates, while stressing safe pool selection, supervision, post-swim bathing, hydration, vaccination, and basic water safety precautions.
