A recent Times Now health feature highlighted the rising number of preventable household injuries sending young children to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Dr. Bhawna Malik, Senior Consultant – Neonatologist and Pediatric Intensivist at Motherhood Hospitals, explained that falls, burns, accidental poisoning, choking, electrical injuries, and drowning risks can become life-threatening for children, especially under the age of five, while stressing childproofing, supervision, first aid awareness, and timely emergency care.
