A recent health feature highlighted how delayed motherhood in the late 30s and early 40s can bring postpartum recovery closer to the early stages of perimenopause. Dr. Kusum Lata, Senior Consulting Gynaecologist at Motherhood Hospital, Gurgaon, explained that late motherhood is becoming more common among urban women due to education, career growth, financial planning, IVF, and egg freezing, while stressing the need for proper evaluation, hormonal assessment, mental health support, nutrition, sleep care, and medical guidance when postpartum and perimenopause symptoms overlap.
