Dr. Avani Hegde has completed her MD in Paediatrics from the Advanced Paediatric Centre, PGIMER, Chandigarh, the apex referral centre for paediatrics in India. She received the institutional bronze medal for exemplary academic performance and research interest. Pursuing her keen interest in paediatric and adolescent endocrine disorders, she went on to complete her sub-specialty training at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health, Bangalore, one of the largest paediatric referral centres in Karnataka.
