FETAL MEDICINE
Overview
At Motherhood, we understand the importance of carefully monitoring the development of the foetus. The Foetal Medicine Department is fully equipped with the latest technologies to assess the growth and development of your unborn baby at various stages of the pregnancy. This diagnosis also helps in early detection of illnesses and abnormalities, enabling early treatments which prevent the mother and child from getting harmed.
Early Pregnancy
EARLY PREGNANCY
Overview
In the sixth week of your pregnancy your baby would have grown to the size of a pea. The eyes and ears will start developing, and the baby’s heartbeat will be around 100–160 times a minute. All this is indicated to you via some symptoms like morning sickness, mood swings, frequent urination and more, but to confirm that your pregnancy is healthy, a visit to your healthcare specialist is a must
Fetal Echo
FETAL ECHO
Overview
Fetal Echocardiography is similar to an ultrasound. It is done to see the structure and function of an unborn child’s heart. It is usually done in the second trimester, between 18 to 24 weeks.
3D /4D scans
3D /4D SCANS
Overview
Ultrasound scans including 3D and 4D are more like a real-time photograph of your baby. With 3D scanning, many pictures of the child are taken in 2D and then merged to create a 3D image effect. With 4D scanning, pictures are made in real time and you can see what your child is doing in your womb at the time, such as moving of legs and arms or opening of the eyes.
CVS
CVS
Overview
Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS) is a prenatal screening which involves sampling the chorionic villi from the placenta for chromosomal abnormalities and some other genetic problems. The placenta is a structure in the uterus that provides blood and nutrients to the growing baby from the mother. It also removes the waste products from the blood of the baby. Chorionic Villi are a small part of placental tissues that resemble fingers and have a genetic make-up similar to that of the embryo.

LASER ABALATION
